"By the conclusion of the new series of Plans recently begun, the Bahá’í community will need to have acquired capacities that can scarcely be glimpsed at present."

~ Universal House of Justice, 30 December 2021
Friends serving on national institutions and agencies from Madagascar, Seychelles, Reunion and Mauritius gather in Mauritius to consult deeper on the provisions of the nine-year Plan.
As the Bahá'í community of the world embarks on the new Nine-Year Plan as from Ridván 2022, the Universal House of Justice has called on a series of conferences to be held across the globe for the friends to learn, reflect and consult on the provisions on this Plan where the main objective would be to release the society-building power of the Faith.

It is in this context that the Regional Institutional Gathering of the Indian Ocean is being held in Mauritius where National Spiritual Assembly members, Auxiliary Board Members or other key resources from Madagascar, Reunions Island, the Seychelles and Mauritius came together, along with the Continental Board Counsellors of East Africa and an International Teaching Centre Counsellor, came together during three days of intense consultation and learning to further understand together the different objectives of this momentous plan.

The Bahá'í Educational Center where the Institutional Gathering of the Indian Ocean took place is the first amenity built around the designated land for the future Mashriqu’l-Adhkár in Mauritius. It is a residential complex which also houses the National Hazira. Found in Pailles (West), in the vicinity of the capital, Port Louis, the building is bordered by a river on one side and a valley on the other and the new tract of the Metro Express, with a view overlooking the sea.
